Facebook link preview: tags, image size and cache refresh

Facebook reads og:title, og:description, og:image and og:url. It ignores twitter:* tags. Recommended image: 1200×630; minimum 200×200; anything under about 600 px wide is shown as a small thumbnail.

Refreshing

Use the Sharing Debugger (developers.facebook.com/tools/debug) and click Scrape Again. A warning about a missing fb:app_id is safe to ignore unless you use Facebook Insights for your domain.

Common failure

Facebook requests the page from its own servers. If your firewall or bot protection challenges facebookexternalhit, you get an empty preview. Allowlist it.
