LinkedIn link preview: tags, image size and cache refresh
Crawler: LinkedInBot/1.0
LinkedIn uses og:title, og:image and og:description (it may not show the description). It also falls back to <title> and the first suitable image. Recommended image: 1200×627.
Refreshing
Paste the URL into Post Inspector (linkedin.com/post-inspector). That re-scrapes immediately. Otherwise LinkedIn caches previews for about 7 days.
Gotcha
Once a post is published, LinkedIn keeps its preview even if you fix the tags later. Inspect before posting.
Minimum tags that work everywhere
<meta property="og:title" content="Page title"> <meta property="og:description" content="One or two sentences."> <meta property="og:image" content="https://example.com/og/page.png"> <meta property="og:url" content="https://example.com/page"> <meta property="og:type" content="website"> <meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image">
Paste your URL into the previewer to see an approximate LinkedIn card and a list of problems.
